About the Artist

As an artist, an art teacher, and a musician I am intensely aware of the rhythm that weaves its way into my work. I feel there is a story to tell as I come to canvas. The pieces of the story rapidly develop and merge into harmonious relationships of color, contrast and balance. An enjoyable painting is one that attracts the viewer into this recognized relationship. It may propose thought, memory, or promise. If this is done, then a never-ending journey begins.

My background is a BFA in Commerical Art and a second major in History. I spent eight wonderful years as head artist at the von Allmen Agency and have taught art in an active studio (In Perspective Studio) since 1982. Currently I sponser a gallery show for my students twice a year. My work can also be seen at Earthworks Art Gallery and Studio in Penn Yan, New York.

I have participated the past four years with American Airlines On My Own Time Art Show in conjunction with the Dallas Business Committee for the Fine Arts.2001, 2003 and 2004 First Place Professional Work on Canvas 2001, 2004 Second Place Professional Work on Paper (Watercolor/Pen and Ink)2003 Second Place Enhanced Photography2002, 2003, 2006  Honorable Mention Professional Works on Paper (Watercolor) and Professional Work on Canvas.
